The New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors were in Wildwood on Friday – a destination best known for summer fun and beaches. The Board held a meeting at the beach resort’s Convention Center.

Before the meeting, Chamber executives held a press event on the boardwalk to thank their host and Chamber member, The Morey Organization, and to bring attention to the beauty and fun of the Jersey Shore.

The Morey Organization is the owner and operator of three amusement piers and two water parks, as well as hotels, restaurants and stores in Wildwood and Wildwood Crest. Executives from Morey, owners Jack and Will Morey and Vice President and CFO James Blake, were honored for their work to bring to New Jersey “the Western Hemisphere’s largest seaside amusement center.”

The press event, which included Chamber Chairman Dennis Bone, the president of Verizon New Jersey, was designed to remind all that the State Chamber has a 21-county presence, to celebrate the uniqueness of the Jersey Shore and to invite all to come and enjoy what the Jersey Shore has to offer.

The State Chamber is continuing to reach out all over the state to sponsor meetings and events as we move toward our centennial anniversary celebration commencing January 2011. “We want to connect with members and all business people throughout the state,” said State Chamber President Joan Verplanck. “And the Jersey Shore in June, to help kick-off the summer season, is a perfect place to start.”
