They stayed at their stations and kept working long past the point of exhaustion.

FlexlineA week after the storm, the City of New York still could not hook up the temporary boilers brought in to heat housing of low-income homes flooded by Sandy. Rigid pipe installations were taking too long. The employees of Flexline worked night and day for two weeks to manufacture enough large diameter steam hose assemblies to get the homes heated. As temperatures dropped and people got colder and colder, our welders and set-up men redoubled their efforts. They stayed at their stations and kept working long past the point of exhaustion.
