The New Jersey Chamber of Commerce enthusiastically congratulates Gov. Phil Murphy, New York City Mayor Eric Adams and the entire New Jersey and New York team involved in bringing the FIFA World Cup 26™ Final to MetLife Stadium on July 19, 2026.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase the assets and capabilities of our state. New Jersey has hosted the Super Bowl, NCAA Tournament games, WrestleMania – and this will be the biggest event of them all, projected to bring more than 1 million visitors to our doorstep. The New Jersey and New York metropolitan area is one of the biggest and most diverse regions in the world, and we are a perfect host for the world’s biggest game.

The eight matches at MetLife Stadium over 39 days in the summer of 2026 are projected to generate over $2 billion in economic impact for the New York/New Jersey region, and support over 14,000 jobs. It will also be viewed on television by over 1.5 billion versus the 200 million that annually watches the Super Bowl.

This is a soccer tournament at its heart, but it’s also a massive business-networking event. It’s a chance for New Jersey business leaders and advocates to promote the Garden State and forge partnerships with business executives from around the world who will be descending here. This can generate the kind of business that will benefit New Jersey not just in the summer of 2026, but well into the future. It has the potential for being a game changer for our economic trajectory.

We will be able to show off our great diversity, our first-class facilities, our talented workforce, our infrastructure, our culture, our easy air access, and the great companies that already call our state their home.

We look forward to assisting the host committee in any way we can to ensure New Jersey is wellprepared and shines brightly. New Jersey has enjoyed some positive economic momentum recently and this is the perfect catalyst to keep it moving forward. This is not just a game, it’s a business and marketing opportunity. No matter who wins the final match, New Jersey will be a winner.
