Tim Lizura will be leaving the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, ROI-NJ has learned.

In an email sent to the EDA staff on Monday, Lizura said the July board meeting will be his last, ending a 22-year career with the organization.

Lizura has served in a number of positions at the EDA, most recently as both president and chief operating officer.

Here’s what he told the EDA staff in an email:

Team,

I am happy to share that I will be transitioning out of the organization over the next few weeks, with the July Board meeting being my last. While I am excited to move on to new adventures, it is bittersweet because of all of you.

Over my last 22 years at the EDA, we have become a family and I will sincerely miss you all. I also will miss the pride I have always felt being a part of this organization. No matter where I am in this state, there is always someone who makes a point of complimenting the EDA team. Your hard work and dedication has resulted in the creation of economic opportunities for New Jersey, its residents, and businesses. You have improved countless people’s lives that you have never met, and it has truly been an honor to serve as your President and COO.

As I leave you in the capable hands of Tim Sullivan and our senior leadership team, I know I will continue to hear great things about you and what the EDA is doing to grow New Jersey’s economy. It is an exciting time to be at the EDA and I wish you all the best of luck as you continue your good work.

Thanks for all you do and all you have always done!
