Gov. Phil Murphy announced Monday morning on Twitter that New Jersey restaurants can resume indoor dining this Friday, Sept. 4, at 25% capacity.
Murphy also called for proper social distancing between tables.
“Reopening responsibly will help us restore one of our state’s key industries while continuing to make progress against COVID-19,” he said in the tweet.
NEW: Restaurants statewide will be able to open for indoor dining beginning this FRIDAY at 25% capacity and with social distancing between tables.

Murphy had previously hoped to reopen indoor dining for the Fourth of July weekend, but canceled those plans a few days before their implementation due to rising coronavirus cases in other states, among other issues.
