State Sen. Loretta Weinberg has one piece of advice for any woman thinking about going on the Walk to Washington train trip: Go.
Weinberg (D-Teaneck) is leading the fight to change the toxic culture around Trenton — and the workplace in general — with a working group that is holding public hearings on the issue.
And, while the working group developed following a published report by New Jersey Advance Media that listed the major networking events — such as the Walk to Washington and the annual League of Municipalities convention — as areas where women have been harassed in the past, she is not advocating a boycott of the trip. On Monday, protesters in Trenton disrupted the state Senate committee hearing on New Jersey’s tax incentive programs.
